News photo and graphic showing details of the muders of North Side Gang members Hymie Weiss and Patrick Murray across from 740 N State, in front of Holy Name Cathedral, at State and Superior, 1926, Chicago.
Dean (Dion) O’Banion was killed two years earlier at the flower shop across the street.
Bullet holes from this shooting are still visible in the exterior walls at Holy Name Cathedral.
The block seen here is now a parking lot.
(thanks to Larry for catching the date!)

Too bad these bldgs are gone!

Developers in Changsha, China recently broke ground on construction of Sky City, which when complete will be the world’s tallest building.
For comparision, this is what the finished structure would look like if it had been built on Streeterville.
